Another mineralized fault, although this time rather larger than the example from Romania. This is part of the famous ‘Mother Lode’ in California, the cause of the gold exploration ‘fever’ which occurred in the western US in the middle of the 19th Century. The gold occurs predominantly in the steeply-dipping white zone, just to the left of the vehicles.
