Particularly attractive minerals are valuable because of their use in the jewellery and decorative stone trade. Shown here is a specimen containing two of the most valuable minerals - a diamond crystal embedded in a mass of gold. The occurrence of these two minerals in one sample would be highly unusual and it is possible that this sample has been fabricated.
